Public Defender Exchange Visits Resuming

by Meryl Carver-Allmond, BIDS Training Director

With things looking at least a little bit better pandemic-wise, the Appellate Defender Office has resumed visiting trial offices. Each visit will now include time for trial attorneys to pick the visiting appellate defenders brains about important legal issues, as well as an opportunity for the appellate defenders to get a taste of what practicing in district court is like in each jurisdiction. by shadowing trial attorneys in court — a full exchange of ideas between folks who occupy different roles in our shared public defender system!

The appellate defenders plan to visit each office about once per year, so be on the lookout for your visit date if your office hasn't had one already.
